Ferrol, 16th of February 2024.–<\/strong> Ferrol, 16 The professors of the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Ferrol (EPEF), Alejandro Garc\u00eda del Valle, Diego Crespo Pereira, Adolfo Lamas Rodr\u00edguez and Javier Pernas \u00c1lvarez, are the authors of the February 2024 book. “Simulation and optimization of processes with FlexSim”<\/em> (Aula Magna Proyecto Clave \u2013 McGraw Hill, 2024), an introductory guide to the methodology of modeling and simulation of industrial processes written entirely in Spanish and using FlexSim1, one of the main discrete event simulation commercial<\/em> softwares<\/p>\n

As explained by the professor at the University of A Coru\u00f1a and co-author of the publication, Javier Pernas \u00c1lvarez, “what we offer is a work written in the Spanish language, introductory but detailed, in which the reader can find practical cases of application of the methodology of modeling and simulation in fields as diverse as internal logistics, work programming and sequencing, shipbuilding or even integrated circuits.\u201d In the same way, he emphasizes his desire for this methodology to be more accessible, both for its inclusion in the training plans of other universities and for those companies that want to implement it in their processes.<\/p>\n

Most of the practical cases collected in this book are adaptations of real projects carried out in the last 20 years from the Industrial Organization Area of the Integrated Engineering Group, linked to the Naval and Industrial Technologies Research Center (CITENI) of the Industrial Campus of University of A Coru\u00f1a. In addition, the book includes the reference of a large repository designed by the authors themselves and in which to verify the resolution of the practical cases. All of them were used for teaching purposes in the different study plans for the Degree in Engineering in Industrial Technologies, a qualification that is taught at the Ferrol Polytechnic School of Engineering (EPEF).<\/p>\n

In the coming weeks, the book “Simulation and optimization of processes with FlexSim”<\/em> will be available for consultation in the room and loan, both in the Casa do Pat\u00edn Library and in the \u00c1ngela Ru\u00edz Robles Library, located in the Study Support Building of the Ferrol Industrial Campus.<\/p>\n
