Ferrol, 20th of March 2024. The mayor of Ferrol City Council, José Manuel Rey; the vice-rector of the Ferrol Campus and Social Responsibility, Ana Ares; the head of social initiatives of the Spanish Insurance Office – OFESAUTO, Laura Iborra; and the president of the Sociocultural Association ASCM Galicia, Paula Gárate; inaugurate this Friday, 22 March, at 9:45 am, in Classroom 3 of the Polytechnic School of Enxeñaría de Ferrol (EPEF), “Muévete! Mejora de la seguridad vial para personas con movilidad reducida”, which is an informative event promoted by the Asociación Sociocultural ASCM Galicia together with the Spanish Insurance Office – OFESAUTO and in collaboration with the Industrial Campus of the University of A Coruña.
At 10:15 a.m. the first conference of the day will be given by Rafael Araujo, head of the Road Safety section of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of A Coruña, who will talk about the importance of road safety, accompanied by Federico Ceniza, provincial coordinator of Road Safety Education of the General Directorate of Traffic. Afterwards, at 11:00 a.m., the head of the Local Police of Ferrol, José Antonio Chao, will speak, with a report focused on the diversity of the movement. In the last conference of the morning, scheduled for 12:15 pm, the coordinator of the Road Safety Education Team of Narón, Pedro Caneiro, and the police officer of this council of the region of Ferrolterra, José Antonio Carballido, will talk about road safety and inclusive cities.
In the afternoon, from 16:30 hours, the lecturer of the Faculty of Labour Sciences of the Industrial Campus of Ferrol, Asunción López Arranz, and the representative of the insurance brokerage Bermejo Blanco, Javier Bermejo, will speak.
The conference “Muévete! Improving road safety for people with reduced mobility” is aimed at the entire university community and the general public interested.
