International Students

CIF Scholarships for International Students

The Scholarship Programme for Master’s Degree Studies is aimed at international graduates who wish to undertake an officially recognised master’s degree programme at our institution. The scholarships cover the cost of tuition fees + a sum to cover travel expenses depending on the country of origin + a monthly sum to cover living expenses (food and accommodation).

Since its launch in the 2021/22 academic year, the initiative has benefited over 40 students from Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Peru and Vietnam. Most of the beneficiaries, after having completed their master’s degrees, have gone on to pursue PhD studies, become researchers on the university’s international projects, or secured a position with one of the local companies.

Every summer, Ferrol Industrial Campus organises training courses on Smart Industry and Advanced Manufacturing, such as: Arduino Sensors & Data Acquisition, Artificial Intelligence, Product Design & Development, Underwater Robotics, Lean Six Sigma, Ethics in Industrial Management, Additive Manufacturing & 3D Design, etc.

All courses are cross-curricular and addressed to several profiles, as the collaborative tasks will every participant integrate its previous knowledge to reach a common goal. They take place during summer break, Monday to Friday, from 10am to 2pm with a break, in small collaborative groups and 100% taught in English.

The courses adopt a highly practical, project-based methodology, aligned with the principles of Industry 4.0 and active learning models. Students develop a complete project that includes 3D design of components, additive manufacturing, sensor installation, data acquisition & analysis, and the execution of a real experimental trial. Each session incorporates hands-on activities such as handling, assembling, printing and direct experimentation with equipment and tools.

Since the first edition in 2023, around 200 participants have joined our summer courses, not only undergraduate and postgraduate students, but also researchers and teaching staff from several countries like Armenia, Morocco, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Jamaica, Ukraine, Albania, Portugal, Romania, Poland, Syria, Egypt, Slovakia, Latvia, France, Montenegro, Serbia, Austria, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Germany, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Nigeria, Venezuela, Benin, Ghana or India.
