CIF Grants for Visiting Researchers
These grants aim to attract research staff from foreign centres to the Ferrol Industrial Campus, in order to promote internationalisation, stimulating scientific collaboration between them and the research staff of Ferrol Industrial Campus. Two modalities are offered:
Long Visits: minimum duration of one month and a maximum duration of three months.
Short Stays: minimum duration of three consecutive days and maximum of five days.
In any of the modalities, the researcher must give a short conference at the Industrial Campus of Ferrol to foster the relationship with the research staff of the CIF. These grants are intended to cover all or part of the travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses of the visiting foreign researcher.
During the period 2022 – 2025, this call has granted 29 mobilities to Ferrol from all corners of the world, like the University of Pretoria (South Africa), the University of Canberra (Australia),
Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (Japan), Nanjing University of Science and Technology (China), Toronto Metropolitan University (Canada) or Khazar University (Azerbaijan), among others.
CIF International Staff Week
The aim of our yearly Staff Week is to identify opportunities for collaboration with international universities on the grounds of Smart Industry and Advanced Manufacturing, while discovering the amazing nature around the city of Ferrol.
The program includes a visit around the campuses, labs and premises, the presentation of the academic and research offer as well as centres and international projects’ success stories and specific meetings with CIF counterparts to explore further cooperation. However, the cultural part is also a key point, as a Spanish language Crash Course, a walking tour, a visit to a museum, an intercultural picnic and many other social activities are also included.
