Ferrol, April 24th, 2024. – The Vice-Chancellor of the Ferrol Campus and Social Responsibility, Ana Ares Pernas; the President of the Official College of Nursing of A Coruña, Inés López Carral; the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Podoloxía, Emma Rodríguez Maseda; and the Director of Human Resources of Navantia Ría de Ferrol, Manuel Freire López; will open tomorrow, Thursday 25 April, at 16:30 hours, in the Assembly Hall Concepción Arenal of the Industrial Campus of Ferrol. 30 hours, in the Assembly Hall Concepción Arenal of the Industrial Campus of Ferrol, the I Xornada de Enfermaría Laboral ‘Saúde Laboral’: 30 hours, in the Assembly Hall Concepción Arenal of the Industrial Campus of Ferrol, the I Xornada de Enfermaría Laboral ‘Saúde no traballo: seguridade e benestar’ in which more than 120 professionals and nursing students of the University of A Coruña will participate.
The programme of the conference includes, from 16:45 hours, the conferences of the president of the Association of Specialists in Nursing of Galicia (AETGa), Carlos Fernández Pereira; of the member of the Laboratory of Research and Development in Artificial Intelligence (LIDIA) and the Centre for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) of the University of A Coruña, Óscar Fontela Romero; and of the nurse of the Work in Quirón Prevención, Isabel Martínez González.
At 18:35 hours will start a round table on occupational illness and prevention of occupational hazards, with the participation of the second vice-president of the Official College of Nurses of Coruña, Francisco Bernabéu Piñeiro; the nurse of the Galician Health Service (SERGAS), Javier Mato González; Pablo Fernández Bouzamayor, Commander of the Civil Guard Command in A Coruña; Manuel Freire López, Head of Occupational Health and Safety at Navantia Ría de Ferrol; Eva Friebel Paradela, Navantia Ría de Ferrol’s Labour Nurse; and Sandra Fernández Martínez, Director of the Quirón Prevención office in Ferrol.
The exhibition of 15 posters made by the students of the Nursing Degree of the University School of Nursing of Coruña and the Faculty of Nursing and Podiatry of the Industrial Campus of Ferrol, as well as by the staff of Navantia Ría Ferrol, will be on display throughout the afternoon in the hall annexed to the Concepción Arenal Assembly Hall of the Industrial Campus of Ferrol. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the programme of the day includes a visit, on Friday 26th April, from 11:00 to 14:00 hours, to the Prevention Service and the Medical Service of Navantia Ría de Ferrol.
The 1st Labour Nursing Conference ‘Health at work: safety and well-being’ is organised by the Official College of Nursing of A Coruña, together with the Faculty of Nursing and Podiatry of the University of A Coruña and Navantia, in collaboration with the Association of Labour Nursing Specialists (AET), the Association of Galician Labour Nursing Specialists (AETGa) and Quirón Prevención. Its aim is to raise awareness of the role of nurses in their speciality of work-related nursing, as well as the other professionals who collaborate directly with these specialists, forming a multidisciplinary team within the prevention services in the workplace.
