The host of “Órbita Laika”, Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón, will give a conference in Ferrol this Friday, invited by the UDC and by the Spanish Navy

Ferrol, April 16th, 2024. Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón, professor of Languages and Computer Systems at the University of La Rioja and presenter of the popular science programme “Órbita Laika” on RTVE’s La2 channel, will give a lecture this Friday 19 April at 19:00 pm in the Concepción Arenal Assembly Hall on the Ferrol Industrial Campus. “Á nosa imaxe e semellanza. Unha viaxe ao cerebro da máquina” invited by the Jorge Juan Chair promoted by the University of A Coruña in collaboration with the Navy and directed by Sonia Zaragoza, professor at the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Ferrol (EPEF).

As Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón, PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of La Rioja, explains, what we know as Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the technological advances that has had the greatest impact on our daily lives in recent years. “The new developments and applications in this area appeal in every way to try to have a reflective and critical look as well as to try to improve our knowledge in such a way that we can use it for the benefit of a better society”, says the science populariser. With his intervention, the presenter of the programme “Órbita Laika” will invite the audience to reflect on AI and its implications. Admission to the conference is free and free of charge until full capacity is reached.
