Ferrol, 8th of April, 2024. The Concepción Arenal Auditorium of the Industrial Campus of Ferrol hosts tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9th, at 7:30 p.m., the presentation of the book Mayorguiana. Thought and theater in Juan Mayorga (Col. Aesthetics & Critique – 49, 2023) written by the Philosophy professor at the University of A Coruña, Alberto Sucasas. The event will be chaired by the vice-chancellor of the Ferrol Campus and Social Responsibility, Ana Ares, and presented by the writers Pilar Berrio and Antonio Polo.
Throughout the publication, the professor of the Faculty of Humanities and Documentation of the Industrial Campus of Ferrol, Alberto Sucasas, investigates the existing dialogue between philosophy and theater in the literary production of the member of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) and Princess of Asturias Award for Letters in 2022, Juan Mayorga. In the first part of the book, an overview of the interaction between thought and drama is addressed. In the second, a selection of theatrical prices is analyzed. And, in the third and last part, Alberto Sucasas delves into the facet of the Madrid playwright as an essayist.
The book, published by the Publications Department of the University of Valencia, is available for consultation and loan in the Library of the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Education Sciences on the A Coruña Campus, as well as in the Casa do Patín Library on the Campus Industrial of Ferrol.
