Ferrol, 11th of March 2024.- The Lecture Hall of the Faculty of Humanities and Documentation of the Industrial Campus of Ferrol will host, on Thursday 21st of March, at 18:30 hours, the conference “Literature and Imagination: The Creation of a Kingdom” given by Ramón Loureiro, journalist, writer and member of the Academia Auriense-Mindoniense de San Rosendo, Ramón Loureiro.
As Ramón Loureiro himself, winner of the Afundación Julio Camba International Award for Journalism in 2016, acknowledges, throughout his career as a writer he has created his own narrative universe, halfway between maps and dreams, which has its epicentre in what is known as Terra de Escandoi, a representation of the Fenosa parish of Sillobre, the birthplace of the journalist and writer.
Ramón Loureiro’s tenacity in converting this territory into literature helped him to obtain distinctions such as the Gold Badge of the City Council of Ferrol, the Brittany Letters Prize awarded by the Royal Choir of Toxos e Froles, the Caminhos da Memoria Prize awarded by the University of Minho and the title of Permanent Ambassador of Fene.
The conference, promoted by the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Humanities and Documentation of the University of A Coruña, is open to the entire university community and the general public. Seats available until full capacity is reached.
